This hearty red blend of Merlot, Syrah, Garnacha and Carignan is serious juice for $26! Lending clay, tang, bramble fruit and lavender on the nose. This complex, age worthy, stainless steel fermented and aged, Priorat delight, offers stellar acidity, wonderfully rounded blueberry and promising tannins; on and across the palate. A gem for Old World enthusiasts looking for bargain gems to lay down in their cellar for another 3-5 years. Keep drinking and keep believing.

2005 Chateau Coufran Haut-Medoc
Massive, thick, Left Bank Bordeaux with a captivating color of ruby red fused with plum purple, lending a enriched bouquet of toasted oak, dark cherry, damp gravel and leaves. This wine is definitely structured to be paired with a hearty main course offering thick dark red fruit, rich soil, unsweetened baking chocolate and nutmeg on the palate. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Chateau Verdignan Haut Medoc 2005
This Cru Bourgeois Superior classified Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend from the upper-Medoc has a beautiful plum-blood red hue and a nose of vanilla wafer, tobacco and musk, but disappoints with a flat offering of cranberry and raspberry on the palate. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Pedroncelli 2009 Three Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Medium bodied with a seductive, captivating, deep dark hue, this Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully aromatic with expressive amounts of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Accompanied by smooth tannin and pristine balance, this Cabernet offers generous flavors of black cherry, plum, mulberry and red currant. Absolutely one of my favorite California Cabs!! Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Capezzana Barco Reale di Carmignano 2006
Carmignano is an Italian wine region located in the Tuscany region and centered around the city of Carmignano, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of Florence and were know for creating “Super Tuscan” wines before they became en vouge. I was so excited to try this wine from this special region.
I am making an assumption that this wine could have been a little corked judging by the continuous dank flavor in the mid palate venturing all the way through the finish, but this wine as a whole was extremely unbalanced and had a rugged tannin that was very unpleasant. On a good note, this wine did have a nice bouquet of musk and violets and some rich flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco and toasted oak, but for the most part, this wine was extremely disappointing. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Chime Cellars Sonoma County 2009 Pinot Noir
Saw this Pinot Noir on sale for $16.99 and noticed it had gotten “91 points” in The Wine Enthusiast, which says to me that it was a very good value, or they spent alot of money in advertising.
From the moment I opened this wine, I loved the nose, as it lent wonderful aromas of ripe red cherries and raspberries, crisp juicy fruit, mint with a slight undertone of milk chocolate. With a nice moderately lean mouthfeel and not overly thick like some California Pinots; I thought this wine was well on it’s way to being the ultimate steal, but was disappointed how thin the wine became after 15 minutes of being aerated. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Adequately rounded Zin with a moderate amount of jaminess and a bouquet of perfume, clove, toasted vanilla, musk and spectrum of red fruit. With flavors of cranberry, eucalyptus, accompanied by a hint of spice, this wine besides lacking a sturdy finish is a decent buy at under $15. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Casa Lapostolle 2009 Carmenere
Chile has taken this forgotten Bordeaux blending grape often mislabeled as Merlot and turned it into a very quaffable, easy sipping wine. With a deep tar hue and a bouquet of green pepper, wheat and rich fruit this wine is a good value at $10 and has consistent flavors of sweet berries and earth. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.
