Claypool Cellars Purple Pachyderm 2009 Hurst Vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir

Bountiful, Burgundian bouquet laced with eucalyptus, earth, dried herbs and black tea while lending flavors of bright cherry concentrate, vanilla and a dash of clove upon the palate.  This wine is quite wild. It differs so much between the Old World bouquet and the extremely juicy, young, thick fruit in the mouth, but with Mr. Claypool navigating the vessel, I would not expect anything less. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

90+ Cellars Lot 54

Tasty 2009 Zinfandel from Sonama County with bountiful amounts of plum, blackberry, raisins and spice while finishing with a hint of vanilla delight. Overall a very good wine and another exceptional value from 90+ Cellars. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

2009 La Follette Pinot Noir – Sangiacomo Vineyard, Sonoma Coast

Happy Sunday and hope everyone has had a wonderful Weekend!  This Pinot Noir from the Sangiacomo Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast is dense with a fresh bouquet of raspberries, candied apples, cassis and an undertone of rich earth. Juicy with thick black and red cherry accompanied by a touch of tobacco and spice; this Pinot is quite stout at 15.5 % alcohol and you should be prepared to strap yourself in tight before consuming.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Seghesio 2009 Sonoma Zinfandel

Happy Friday to all and hope everyone has wonderful plans for the Weekend and is enjoying the invigorating Fall weather.  🙂   It has been some time since I have had  Seghesio Zinfandel and after having their 2009 Sonoma Zin last night, I realize it has been way way too long. This by far is one of the best Zins out there, gracefully capturing my attention from the get go with vibrant amounts of jaminess, velvety smoothness,  Holiday vanilla and spice with perfectly ripe rounded flavors of red rasperries, blackberries and candied apples.  I absolutely adored everything about this wine except that I didn’t have a magnum of it.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Capezzana Barco Reale di Carmignano 2006

Carmignano is an Italian wine region located in the Tuscany region and centered around the city of Carmignano, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of Florence and were know for creating “Super Tuscan” wines before they became en vouge.   I was so excited to try this wine from this special region.

I am making an assumption that this wine could have been a little corked judging by the continuous dank flavor in the mid palate venturing all the way through the finish, but this wine as a whole was extremely unbalanced and had a rugged tannin that was very unpleasant.  On a good note, this wine did have a nice bouquet of musk and violets and some rich flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco and toasted oak, but for the most part, this wine was extremely disappointing.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Easton Amador County Zinfandel 2007

Adequately rounded Zin with a moderate amount of jaminess and a bouquet of perfume, clove, toasted vanilla, musk and spectrum of red fruit.  With flavors of cranberry, eucalyptus, accompanied by a hint of spice, this wine besides lacking a sturdy finish is a decent buy at under $15. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.
