Mackey Vineyards 2008 Syrah, Walla Walla Valley

Refined nose of earth, musk, meat and mushroom while offering smiling faces flavors of baked blackberry pie, black cherry and a hint of mild mint.  Only thing I wish about this wine was that it was a little more muscular on the palate. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Col Solare Winery 2007 Columbia Valley Red Wine

With the exquisiteness of a gold medal performance, this Columbia Valley Meritage Blend offers magnificent mouthfeel and poetically refined flavors of buttery toffee, mocha, dill, faint fresh mushrooms, perfume and spice.  Glorious all the way through with a generous finish.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

2008 Ash Hollows Headless Red

Happy Thursday to all and hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful Fall weather and foliage. Just came across these guys from Walla Walla, Washington and had their 2008 “Headless Red” blend composed of 58% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah and a dash of Malbec.  Medium bodied with a contemplative nose of pine needles, gingerbread, dill and a tad of faint musk, this wine from its “Headless Horseman” label all the way throughout its intriguing, non conformist character is enjoyable and flavorful, laced with a zest of dark juicy fruit, fresh pleasantly tart blueberries, cinnamon and a dash of white pepper. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

2007 Skylite Cellars Reserve Bordeaux Style Blend

Happy Sunday and once again writing about another massive effort by Skylite Cellars with this Columbia Valley Meritage blend consisting of 51% Malbec, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Carmenere. Offering a riveting bouquet of sweet perfume, dill, nutmeg, cigar box  and seduction, this masterfully layered medium bodied red has an elegant full mouthfeel that is not overbearing with expressive flavors of clove, black currant and powdered blueberries.  Absolutely love Skylite Cellars vision and wines. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

2008 Merlot – Desert Wind Winery

It has been some time since I have had Desert Wind Wines, and after having their Wahluke Slope Merlot last night; I realize it has been way too long.  This well-lined Merlot offers huge amounts of deep concentrated dark fruit accompanied by entrancing flavors of vanilla extract, smoke and tad of Bordeaux earthiness. Full and smooth, this gargantuan Merlot should be paired with wild game or a rich beef dishes. This is one of my favorite Merlots to date and can’t wait to taste all of Desert Wind’s awesome wines!  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.
