2007 Benvenuto De La Serna Malbec

This full bodied Malbec offers toasted oak, earth, herbaceousness and cigarbox on the nose, while lending multi layered, closed dark fruit, black licorice and anise upon the palate.  Definitely not a sipping Malbec and should be paired with a hearty beef dish; I felt for  $13 it was a good value, but at full retail price for $23, I could take or leave it.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

Gard Vintners 2009 Lawrence Vineyards Syrah (Columbia Valley)

With a thick, dark hue and seductive nose of perfume and spice, this Washington State Syrah is beautifully expressive lending flavors of rich plum, Concord grape and subtle minerality, accompanied by smooth tannin and a lengthy, black licorice finish.  Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.

2008 Mackey Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley

Happy Friday to all and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!   Here is the first of many wines I have tried over this Holiday week and one of my favorites, by Winemaker produced by Roger Mackey out of Walla Walla, Washington.  This 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot has a harmonious, masterfully refined bouquet of classic Walla Walla fruit, tobacco, musk and cassis. With stellar mouthfeel, elegant tannin and delectable flavors of black currant, green bell pepper, black licorice and spice, this wine was a blessing to drink. Keep Drinking and Keep Believing.
